His primary duty is to ensuring the safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic operating in the vicinity of the aircraft carrier. USS George Washington (CVN 73), commanded by CAPT Malcolm P. Branch, departed its home port of Norfolk, Virginia, on January 26 for a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Ocean.
